About Us
We are Mark and Donna Ellins from St. Augustine, FL, and for over 2 years we were very loyal and dedicated Xocai distributors. We were positioned very well, with only 7 people between us and the Master Distributors on our side of the company. We had an absolutely stellar upline that included 4 Ambassadors, 1 Double Diamond, and 2 Platinums. We enjoyed what we thought was personal friendship with several of them. We were "drinking the koolaid" big time and thought we had found the very best company, products, compensation plan and upline in the entire network marketing industry.
HOW WRONG WE WERE!
Solid Xocai Silver going for Gold
Eventually we reached the level of Silver and came very close to achieving Gold rank a couple of times but the volume always seemed easier to reach than the structure requirements and we never had both for the 2-week period necessary to make that rank. We were even one of the winners of the Power of One Challenge, which recognized the top 15 distributors in the company for sponsoring activity and were honored to be included at a private dinner with the Brooks family and the other winners.
We were on all of the calls, attended all of the events, plugged into the upline and worked our business diligently but after 2 1/2 years, we found ourselves barely able to keep up with the attrition rate -- we were losing distributors and customers faster than we could sign them up. Turned out this situation is now normal!
Xocai Annual International Convention Turns Us OFF!
In June 2010, we headed to Reno, NV, for Xocai's annual International General Celebration and came away feeling even more dispirited as we talked to so many others who were struggling to be successful and just not making it with Xocai. We loved Xocai, we loved our distributors and we loved our upline but the time had come to take an honest look at what we had and make some difficult decisions.
Xocai is Part of the Problem in the Network Marketing Industry
Since leaving Xocai we have found out so much about the company and some of their top distributors that we consider them one of the problems in the network marketing industry and would love to see them GONE. We love this industry but like all other industries, there are some bad companies and some bad people that really mess the industry up for the good ones.
Is This a Good Company?
-- How can a company make the claim to be a "health promoting company" and use sucralose in their products?
-- How can a company be ethical when it misrepresents a convention speaker to their distributors to build validation?
-- How can a company be ethical when it creates product manufacturing stories to differentiate their products?
-- How can a company claim it is not using "child slave labor" when their cacao comes from the Ivory Coast of Africa?
-- How can a company claim they have 200,000 distributors when their international convention has 500 people?
-- How can a company claim huge growth when they have extremely few Silver and above distributor rank advancements in
    the last year?
-- How can a company claim to attract & keep top notch people, when many Diamond and above distributors have left for
other companies in the last two years?
-- How can a company make health claims when their "health validator", Dr. Steven Warren, leaves and joins the
    competition (Choconat)?
-- How can a company claim to be ethical when one of their Ambassadors, Adam Paul Green, demonizes every highly
    ranked distributor that leaves?
-- How can a company claim to be ethical when that same Ambassador puts up websites and blogs in the name of
distributors that went elsewhere and publicly disparages them too?
-- How can Xocai Silvers and above look a prospect in the eye and tell them Xocai is a good business opportunity for
that the "average" person can make money with when the facts are plain to see?
-- How can a company's owners and distributors claim an industry track record of success, when their record is failure?
Be sure to visit our blog for in-depth information on the above items.
Our special thanks to Xocai Ambassador Adam Paul Green
His online rants and weird videos about us have created curiosity in many people who hunted this website up, liked what they read, dumped Xocai and are now with us in Waiora. Adam, please keep up the good work!
Is Xocai Part of the Child Labor, Child Slavery, Child Trafficing Problem
Jeanette Brooks and Xocai deny they use chocolate farmed with child slave labor. They state their chocolate is sourced from "small family farms" in the Ivory Coast of Africa and is "Fairtrade Certified". CNN and other investigative journalists recently investigated the cacao farming in the Ivory Coast and state that in spite of all the major chocolate suppliers signing a fair trade agreement stipulating they will not enable child labor, slavery or trafficing in the cacao industry, tragically that agreement is poorly, if ever, enforced.
These reputable journalists say child labor, slavery and trafficing are rampant in the Ivory Coast and that all chocolate companies that source cacao from the Ivory Coast are part of the problem. The chocolate companies do not have their own farms and the cacao they buy ultimately comes from the "small family farms" and that is where the problem is.
You do have alternatives to consuming and marketing healthy chocolate that are much better than Xocai. We distribute Chava Vital Chocolate from Waiora. If you want a company that is chocolate only, Peter Langelaar can tell you about Choconat, an MLM company started by an ex-Xocai rep which is giving Xocai a run for their money. Was our impressive Xocai upline helpful?
They didn't! Our sponsor was a Platinum and he was helpful and reachable by phone. The rest of the upline consisted of Double Diamonds and a bunch of Ambassadors, all of them knew us personally and expected us to become Diamonds and all of them gave us their phone numbers and promised to help us any way they could. They didn't. They could not be reached for 3-ways and if we were lucky we got a call back a few days after we left a message but usually did not even get a call back! These "big pins" were in semi-management mode and not actively building or supporting their businesses. In stark contrast, the help we get in Waiora is WORLD CLASS!
Did we immediately go after Xocai distributors?
We immediately told our upline we were leaving and then told our downline and invited them to come with us or plug in to our sponsor if they wanted to stay with Xocai. About a third of our downline came with us and most are doing very well and quickly made a profit, which they never were able to do in Xocai. About a third took the opportunity to quit network marketing and the other third stayed with Xocai and gradually slipped away over the course of a year. None are left in Xocai.
We did talk to a few Xocai business friends that were not in our downline and a couple of them made the move. Other than that, we did not call Xocai distributors for over a year. Our marketing was limited to websites and videos which generated interest and phone calls and quite a few Xocai distributors then examined our materials and joined our team. Some have done very well and most did the same they did in Xocai, nothing. The big benefit for the ones who did nothing is using Waiora products their health has improved greatly and some have overcome serious health challenges. Some have also lost weight they could not get rid off with Xocai's X-Protein Shake, we suspect it was "toxic fat" which Xocai's products do not affect but Waiora's products can affect.
Our Waiora sponsors thought many Xocai distributors would be interested in leaving Xocai but were not successful with the ones they approached. They had a knack for prospecting Xocai distributors that were "drinking the koolaid" and would not listen to a "heretic". They even prospected Xocai Ambassador Adam Paul Green who said he would "go down with the ship" before changing companies. Hopefully he is strong swimmer. LOL!
Do you have any friends left in Xocai?
Yes we do, but not many. Most friendships in network marketing are really "business friendships", especially with upline. The friendships that stuck are with our sponsor who we were friends with long before Xocai and some wonderful crossline friends we made while in Xocai and some people in our downline that we got to know well and now have a lifelong friendship with.
Where do you get your "inside" information on Xocai?
We are business friends with two "Diamonds and above" that we cannot name. They desperately want to leave Xocai but can't walk away from their paychecks although their paychecks are now a fraction of what they once were. We also get calls from Xocai's "recently departed" who feed us inside information including info on internal strife in Jeremy Reynold's organization and the "not so friendly" competition between the two Master Distributor's organizations. These problems are at the top leadership level of Xocai and it is pretty ugly. If things were going well for Xocai there would probably not be all this high level strife.
What do you know about Jeanette and Andrew Brooks?
We know plenty and it makes us VERY HAPPY to be away from them and Xocai. Other than that we won't comment except to say they are not the quality of people we choose to be around. We have talked with Diamonds and above who left Xocai and they have Jeanette, Andrew and Jeremy tales that are really upsetting. Our feeling is that you can trust them as far as you can throw their corporate headquarters.
Why spend so much time bashing Xocai instead of working your Waiora business?
Good question! First, we really don't spend much time on our anti-Xocai websites, blogs and videos. Typically it is a late night update once a month or two, while having a glass of wine and watching TV. If we get consumers or distributors from Xocai that is great. The big thing to us is to WARN people about Xocai, especially if they think they can create a profitable Xocai business. It is possible but extremely difficult and you better be a networking superstar.
We DO work our Waiora business and have a number of great websites, videos and blogs plus we do leadership calls each week and have a rapidly growing European organization. Attracting and converting Xocai distributors is a small amount of our business but it is very enjoyable because of our "history" with Xocai and our feelings towards that company's owners and top distributors.
Do you think Xocai will remain in business?
That is a question for Jeanette Brooks, not us. Many people think they are "on the ropes" and are surprised they made it into 2012. It will be interesting to see if they make it into 2013 or if they go retail, sellout or bankrupt and close. We don't have crystal ball but the telltales are grim.
What is your best advice for a Xocai distributor?
Five pieces of advice:
1 - don't believe the propaganda being fed to you by your upline and company owners, do your own research and critical thinking
2 - do an ethics check on yourself regarding peddling Xocai as a "realistic" business opportunity for the average person
3 - do your own research on Ivory Coast child labor, slavery and trafficing and decide if you are still comfortable with Xocai
4 - do your own research on sucralose and see if you are still comfortable with Xocai
5 - leave Xocai and find a better company immediately, preferably join our Waiora team, but GET OUT OF XOCAI!
After All......You Can Do Better!
We had to find a new company!
Waiora is that company and it is GREAT!
There were many criteria in selecting a new company including age of the company, momentum cycle position, products, corporate experience & vision, corporate culture, leadership, compensation plan, duplication strategy, training system, upline support and more. We did not want a repeat of Xocai, where we were fooled and ultimately were instrumental in damaging the financial health of people we were trying to help. We selected Waiora and could not be more pleased!

Xocai Healthy Chocolates vs Waiora's Chava - The Vital Chocolate (7 minutes)
Antioxidant & Bioflavonoid Comparison
Are you wondering about the nutritional comparison between Xocai and Chava Vital Chocolate? Both companies use Brunswick Labs to test the ORAC-fn and flavonoid values of their products and both display the Brunswick seal. In every category, Chava Vital Chocolate exceeds Xocai Healthy Chocolate.
Because the Xocai products come in several different sizes, we've presented the comparisons in two ways -- the first one is based on each company's recommended daily serving and the second is a gram for gram comparison.
Discover a better weight loss system!
Many Xocai distributors are unhappy with the X-Protein Meal Replacement product both because of the high price and because it includes the artificial sweetener sucralose, also known as Splenda. Anyone who is truly health conscious would not consume any of those chemicals which top health experts like Dr. Joseph Mercola state are poisons and accumulate in the body, ultimately leading severe health problems.
Most people object to the taste of the X-Protein shake and have to add almond milk or frozen fruits to make it more palatable. X-Protein shake is also expensive, thats for sure! MXI recommends that anyone embarking on a weight loss program should consume 2 of these shakes each day along with 3 pieces of their hard chocolates -- that would be 2 bags of X-Protein and 1 box of chocolate for a total member cost of about $400 per month. The weightloss market is a crowded one with some excellent, established, network marketing companies like Herbalife, Isagenix and Visalus well entrenched and marketing effective products in the $100 range. Combining a weightloss, meal replacement shake with very high antioxidant intake is effective but can be done for far less cost and done much better and the use of any amount of sucralose is a deal breaker for any health knowledgeable consumer.
Our company, Waiora, makes a shake that is a delicious, all-natural meal replacement. Replace one or two of your daily meals with Waiora's meal replacement shake and consume one box per month of Waiora's Chava healthy chocolate and you are way past 100,000 ORACfn for the day, PLUS you are melting away "toxic fat" which Xocai's products can't do. Best of all, you can be sure that you are consuming a product that is all-natural and not health damaging, it has absolutely no sucralose. (click here to learn more about sucralose)
Enjoy a much more generous compensation plan!
After struggling for 2 1/2 years with Xocai's complicated and top loaded binary compensation plan, we only achieved the rank of Silver. Waiora's unilevel compensation plan works great for us and our team, especially new distributors! After a little more than 2 weeks in Waiora (August 2010) we achieved the rank of Ruby and earned about $2,800 which included a Ruby Growth Bonus. We also went back to the Xocai comp plan and plugged in that same amount of activity and discovered that we would have only earned $900 -- that's 3 times the commission for the same amount of work.
Our next month, September, we moved up in rank to Ruby 10K, again earned the Ruby Growth Bonus, and broke a Ruby in our group. Even better is the fact that we sponsored fewer people but still earned almost $3,000 in commission. That's because our group was growing and the residual income was beginning to kick in; our income was no longer tied to our own efforts.
Our third month, October, we skyrocketed up to Emerald, which is about the equivalent of Xocai Gold, earned the Emerald Growth Bonus, and broke 5 Rubies in our group. This resulted in a total commission of a little over $5,000. That equals our best month ever in Xocai and we did it in less than 3 months instead of 2 years.
How can Waiora pay out such high commissions and still be a profitable, debt-free company? The answer is simple. Most network marketing companies pay out about 50% of their sales volume as commissions to their distributors, but most companies pay it unequally favoring the high ranking distributors. Waiora believes it is vital for new distributors to make a profit quickly and distributes a large part of a new distributor's signup volume to their sponsor. This makes new distributors profitable in a very short amount of time and keeps everyone motivated and building a solid organization. We have also found that Waiora's residual commissions more than equal what we received in Xocai and we find people engaging and building their Waiora business immediately!
Waiora was founded in 2004 and is a debt-free company that is expanding internationally!
Our industry's trade group, the MLMIA, states that 95% of network marketing companies fail in their first 3 years and 98% are gone by their fifth year. This is referred to as "infant mortality" in the industry. You want to align yourself with a strong, profitable company that is past the "infant mortality" stage and exhibiting strong growth trends. The owners and management team should be professionals of the highest integrity, have a long term history of success and always have the best interest of their distributors at heart. This is exactly what we have found with Waiora.
With one of the most generous and brilliantly-designed compensation plans in the industry, Waiora helps the new distributor make money fast. This means less attrition, more growth and stability; maximizing the return on your time, money and effort. When I tell a person they can realistically make money with Waiora, I am telling the truth and that is extremely important to me. You don't have to be networking superstar to succeed in Waiora, the products and compensation plan are excellent!
If you are struggling to build a Xocai business and your team is not making money, consider joining us in Waiora. Personal friendships are an integral part of network marketing, but don't let them keep you and your team from the success you deserve. We are full-time in this business and totally committed to our group; we will work hard to help you quickly build a profitable business. You've put in your time learning about health, chocolate and network marketing..now put that knowledge and experience to work and enjoy the rewards!
